Door2Day: a home services marketplace running in Spain and Sweden
Stack: Next.js · NestJS · Flutter · PostgreSQL · Stripe Connect · AWS
Door2Day connects households with vetted service providers across Spain and Sweden. NextGen delivers and operates the full platform: the customer-facing web app, the customer and provider mobile apps, and the backend.
The hard problems we solved
- Marketplace payments with Stripe Connect — provider onboarding, EU KYC requirements, and payout flows across two countries, including the payment edge cases (like extra-time requests mid-job) that only surface in production.
- Three-language localization — Spanish, Swedish, and English across the web app, both mobile apps, and legal content, with a translation pipeline that keeps all surfaces in sync.
- Production database performance — diagnosing and resolving PostgreSQL bottlenecks under real load, including ORM over-fetching patterns.
The result
A marketplace serving two EU markets, operated continuously by the same team that built it — releases, monitoring, and payment operations included.
